I attended the new Wizard run Big Apple Comic-Con today. Alison Rosen joined me and we had many an adventure! Before Ali Ro arrived, I got a few good interviews. You'll hear them on next Tuesday's episode of my podcast, Comic News Insider.
Yep, that's Aaron Douglas aka "Chief Tyrol" from Battlestar Galactica. Really nice guy. We talked briefly about his BSG days and his new show he's already shooting.
Oh yeah. It's Michael Hogan aka "Colonel Saul Tigh" from BSG. (Among many other roles.) We actually talked for quite a bit discussing his disagreements with some directions his character took, his relationship with Edward James Olmos and his appearance on a couple of new shows I dig like Dollhouse and Warehouse 13. Such a gentleman and just super nice.
Next, I spoke with Miracle Laurie aka "November" on Dollhouse. She's pretty new to all of this but took it all in stride. Very sweet. We spoke for a few minutes and even a bit more after the interview. Very sweet woman.
I also spoke to the great Erin Gray. She of the former shows Buck Rogers and Silver Spoons. Really fun and cool. She was quite helpful in suggesting whom I should go ask to interview next. Alas, no picture as she got busy right after our interview. Maybe tomorrow I'll get one. I'm not gonna lie, I had her poster from when she was on Buck Rogers. I even told her and she was pleased.
I had contacted a few friends and acquaintances before the show to let them know I was swinging by. Jim Lee always remembers me and is really cool to me. We tried to set up a follow up interview but his schedule is so busy. Saw buddy Ryan Bodenheim for a hot minute. Roamed around with Ali Ro and saw some costumers, Adam West, William Shatner, the Duke boys, Loretta Swit, Todd Bridges, etc. That's my problem with this show. It is NOT a comic-con. There is artist alley in the back and comic retailers. And folks I interviewed made sense being there as it's Sci-Fi related. But wrestlers, reality TV folks, sports stars, etc? No! Just don't get it. Anyway, enjoy the pics.
