I have discovered my 2 new best friends. Alie Ward and Georgia Hardstark are their names. They host the awesome webshow on the Food2 website called "Drinks with Alie & Georgia". 2-3 minute videos where they make a themed cocktail that they created. But it's so much more. They are sharp and fashionable dressers (usually dressing to the theme) and are quite funny. Their banter is just adorable. As are they.
I first saw them when I was flipping channels and came across this random drinking show about summer cocktails on the Cooking Channel. They were some of the "talking heads" during the drink segments. Sure, right away you think, "Whoa! 2 hot and funny ladies!" There was a little note below them with their names and the show they host. I decided to check it out and have not stopped watching. Well, that's not true. I stopped watching when I got to the last episode. (26 total so far with more to come).
Exploring their website, I also discovered they have an occasional podcast called The Deep End Podcast with Alie & Georgia. What? Fellow podcasters as well? To be fair, they are fledgling podcasters with only 5 episodes as compared to the 350+ episodes of my podcast, Comic News Insider. That doesn't mean we can't do a crossover! Maybe I can get them to read some comic books and come on the show for a "Converting to Comicdom" segment. It could happen.
And let's not forget that I've been a bartender/bar manager in NYC for many, many years. I've created cocktails that are still on some lists in restaurants/bars. (And continue to do so). So, that makes me dig these ladies all the more with how creative and fun they make their creations!
Here's a taste of one of their videos. I know you're soooooo surprised that it involves zombies. What can I say? I love zombies. I love drinks. And I now love Alie & Georgia. Join me in that love.
