Tuesday was a busy day for me. Well, it was supposed to be even busier. I had made plans to record the podcast with my new favorite gals of Live Prude Girls fame (Stevie Nelson and Milana Vayntrub), go to the G4TV studios to watch Attack of the Show and interview some of the talent, see The Dark Knight Rises shortly after and then meet up with friends. Phew!
Stevie and Milana came over to where I was staying to record. I had a super fun time thought it was not the normal format show and we quickly got off the rails. But all in good fun! I'll admit I wasn't as organized as usual as I was so on the go since Comic Con and barely had time to rest and put things together when I was in LA. We recorded a few shows (well, just intro/outros to 2 of the shows) and they had to skedaddle. Love those girls and had an amazing time hanging with them. I had canceled the G4 visit earlier as I knew I'd be cutting it close. I was supposed to meet my friends at the Universal City Walk to see The Dark Knight Rises at 7:30 so needed to be there by 7ish. I misunderstood and didn't realize I had to find my own way there. YIKES! I was freaking out and calling everyone. Finally, I just took a cab and it wasn't too pricey and got me there in plenty of time. I know City Walk is a cheesy spot, but I loved it. My LA friends made fun of me for it but I do love me some malls! You're probably wondering how I got to see it so early in the week. My friend works for Warners and got me in. Woo hoo! Thanks, C!
Good friend Remi drove me to meet up with my friends at an old school dive bar called HMS Bounty. Lots of NYC folks were meeting up and I had a few of my LA friends meet me there. Hadn't seen old college pal Jill in ages and she brought one of her friends with her to hang. My future ex-girlfriend named Selena. Cass was there too along with Praveen and some others. We decided to bolt off to Bar Marmont again for a few and then hit the Fatburger for some late night eats.
Wednesday was pretty much just catching up on all the SDCC coverage I got until my friend Stacey came to pick me up and drop me off at the airport in the afteroon. Thanks Stacey!
Alas, quite a few folks couldn't make it out to meet me as my time there was so short. Thanks to Brea and Olivia for making the effort though! And apologies to others for me not getting a hold of you in time. Just a whirlwind!
I actually quite enjoyed my LA time. I always unfairly say, "LA sucks and I could never live there". Still don't think I'd like to live there but could visit again and enjoy!
Mad thanks to Michael and Carrie for letting me stay in their awesome crib. To Praveen for driving me around. Shout outs to Remi and Stacey for driving me as well. Next time, I'll have to come out for a longer time to really explore. I'm already missing the old fashioned at Cole's. Have one waiting for me, kids.
