I feel ya Yoda. The force was strong in me last night on my birthday. The force known as liquor! I know I got you all excited the past couple of days over the craziness that are my birthday parties. Sorry to disappoint you all though. I sat at home and had a couple of friends over for tea. And that's it. See ya next year!
Yeah, right. I slept most of the day through to save up my energy for the party. Went and got all gussied up. Yeah, I know. I look hot. You can say it. Got to Luxia where we were having dinner after 8 p.m. Dinner ended up only being about 7 of us, but I knew people would show throughout the evening. They always do. We had a feast of octopus, lamb, steak, pasta, scallops, shrimps and crab cakes.
I brought a magnum of red wine from my collection. EXP Syrah 2000. Not an amazing wine, but a good one. And for the layperson, a magnum of wine is a large bottle that equals about 3 normal size bottles of wine. Others started showing and joined us. Did some early present opening.
Senta got me a phat cigar box with some good cigars and a bottle of XO cognac. Not too shabby! Funniest present of the eve goes to James and Natalie.
They bought me a Batman lunchbox packed with lunch! PB & J, a tangerine and a juice box! Yummy! Send my lamb back! There were a couple of gift cards thrown in for good measure! And, yes, I drunkenly ate the lunch around 7 a.m. That's some good eatin'! Got some more gift cards, which I love! Don't be buying me DVD's or CD's! I already got 'em all! John was way too generous with his gift card. All good. I'll just use it to buy his birthday and Christmas present! Sweet! My sis calls and bails on me. Disappointing, cuz we all know I gots mad love for my sis and there were new people there that hadn't met her yet. She, too, sent me a gift card through email. Also, quite generous. Looks like I'll be buying her Christmas present with that one! See? Gift cards rock! You are basically using them to buy stuff for the people who gave them to you! Awesome!
My friend Cyndi shows up and gives me her annual present. Her boobs. Oh yeah. Once a year I get free reign and she shoves my face in them. Who am I to complain and say no to a gift? Look at me! I'm digging for lost treasure. Seriously, where is my face? Reminds me of that old Debbie Gibson (Sorry,DEBORAH) song that went something like this: "I get lost, in your boobs..." At least that's what I heard. After this boobalicious turn of events someone yanks on my hair. Which I love cuz Daddy's been bad. I turn around and it's my friend, Layla.
She is this stunning belly dancer and had just gotten off from a gig and had a couple of hours to kill until her next one. Pleasant surprise, cuz I've had a crush on her since I first saw her a few years back. It was totally that Wayne's World moment where the wind blows at me, stars shine and I hear "Ooh Dream Weaver, I believe you can get me through the night!" Anyway, you don't want to hear about the beatings of my heart. If I had one. We're chillin and catching up and she asks if I want her to belly dance for me. I think you know what I said. HELL'S YEAH! Okay, that was my internal monologue. I calmly and rationally responded, "Hey, it's up to you. That would be cool." My subtext was PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO IT! She disappeared for a few minutes and came back out in full outfit.
They put her music on and she did her thing! Thing about her. Yeah, she's hot. But, mama can dance! When she comes out, every guy, girl, goat, whatever...stops and stares. I bet you're staring right now, aren't you? Needless to say, I enjoyed it. Best impromptu gift ever!
After she did her thing, and oh how she did her thing, we ordered a few bottles of champagne and toasted to the reason we all exist. Me. Thanks to John, again. He sneakily paid for the bottles. Damn! I should have ordered the really expensive stuff! People came in and out through the evening. Some had a few drinks in them already. As can be attested by the fork loving that Julie exhibits here.
And big ups to her and Pam for the gift they got me. The 50th Anniversary hard cover Playboy book. It's a tome and a serious read. Well, serious flip through. I love that girls got me that. They know me so well. Guess they read a previous post about how I used to be found amidst my uncle's Playboy collection as a youth. I'll be home studying that book for many nights to come, so don't bother me!
After the cake and the traditional blowing out of the candle, we headed elsewhere. What did I wish? Let's just say she's still asleep in my bed. And no she doesn't speak English. Praise Buddha! We hit a few local bars in the hood and more friends joined in the Jimmy goodness.
Frank Miller, he of SIN CITY fame, chilled with us for awhile. That's Joy and her crazy self with Frank brooding in the back. I wonder if he is contemplating whether I should be in SIN CITY 2? Curses! I blew my chance! Around this time I received a phone call from an unexpected caller. I will not reveal who it is,but it was really cool. She was recently in a movie that I really liked (no, not porn!) and she is a friend of a friend. He asked her to give me a call and wish me Happy Happy! We chatted for about 15 minutes or so. It was very cool and she is coming here soon, so I get to hang out with her too! Somehow, we ended up over at the piano bar, where my new friend, Sara, serenaded me. Or SARAnaded me.
I honestly don't remember what she sang, but she made me come up there and sit by her and she basically gave me a lap dance while singing. This night just gets better and better! Now, normally, I would be dragged kicking and screaming to a "Gentleman's club" of sorts. We were so busy drinking and hanging that we lost track of time. Thus, no sordid Hustler Club or Penthouse Executive Club stories. Well, there's always tonight. Anyone?
Thanks to all who attended. At first, I had an ego crush due to the smaller turnout than usual. I guess I'm so used to having over 50 people show up every year, that when it was only around half that number, I felt unloved for a minute. I quickly got over it! I had a blast with my peoples and those that didn't make it, well...you missed out suckas!More pics over there in the photo album. Check it.
Here's to another year of me! Enjoy!
Sounds like I missed a fun time! Sorry I've been out of touch. Did you get my email? That belly dancer is beautiful! Did you ever have the Wayne's World moment with me? :)
