I came home last night to no internet. Our router was jacked up. I almost went back to work to use the office computer just so I could get things done. I started calling friends. "Can I come over and use your computer?!!" I was like a crack addict looking for his next fix. Seriously....what did we do before this internet thing came about?
Please don't ever leave me again, internet. I don't think I could make it through another night of no sleep, the cold sweats, red eyes and (*shudder*) reading. Whatever it takes, just let me know. I'll be good from now on. I'll change for you! Just don't ever do that again.

Gearing up for Halloween and I need some help! My podcast, Comic News Insider, is doing a special Zombie Halloween episode in a couple of weeks. I have rediscovered my love for all things Zombie. Well, except Rob Zombie. I mean, I like him, but love? We'd have to get to know each other better.
Anyway...I have tons of Zombie comic books. And quite a few movies. But, send me some movies I should see. And even books or comics I should know about. I may have them already, but ya never know.
Also, I'll be all zombie-fied in costume. But, I don't want to be a random zombie. Something else. A fireman zombie? Lumberjack zombie? Superhero zombie? What do you think?
Send ideas! Thanks!
Mmmm.....brains!

There was some crazy woman at work last night.
Wacko Jacko. Crazy go nuts. Bats in the belfry. Just outta Bellevue. Certifiable.
Or was she? Allow me to explain.
The waiters start a-buzzing, as they do, about some 20-something Asian girl (relevant later, bitches!) who ordered 2 meals and is sitting at a table by herself. I decide to glance over. She's sitting there having a complete conversation with someone. Who isn't there. There are plates on both sides. Drinks on both sides. We all immediately thought, "Okay. Wack job." I daren't make eye contact. However, the couple of times I looked over, it seemed like she wanted me to notice. Hmmmm.....
At the same time, there was a 30-something white woman at the bar. She looked REALLY depressed. Like she could cry any moment. Usually, I'll talk to anyone at my bar. Something about her told me not to. She'd either start bawling or snap at me. Her eyes kept darting around back and forth. Almost as if she wanted us to take notice. So, I, like the rest of the bar and wait staff, chose to ignore this woman as well. Hmmm.....
Say what you want. We're mean. We're assholes. Whatever. Stick with me.
Just then, the post-theater kick...uh...kicked in. The bar and restaurant got slammed. Depressed woman gets up and leaves. Says nary a word. Tips really well. At the other end of the bar, a large group of people arrive. Pretty fun 40-50 somethings. The "crazy" woman was sitting at a table directly behind them near the bar. Suddenly, I hear a raised voice. It's crazy woman. Screaming. "Fuck you, William! No, I'm not going to marry you!" One of my fun group thinks it funny and comments, "Yeah, you tell him!" She says to him, "That's right! You tell him too!" She rushes out of the door all dramatic-like with another "Fuck you, William".
My fun group and I start to analyze. I run over to the wait staff to see if she paid. Yes, she had. And she tipped well. Hmmm....
The conspiracy theorist in me awakens. My first thought is that she was an actress doing some lame acting class exercise or researching a role to get people's reaction to someone talking to air. Part of the fun group suggest that maybe she's writing a paper for the same reason. I think we were both pretty close. Had she really been crazy, she wouldn't have paid and tipped so well. And, the fun group, as I had noticed, said that she kept making eye contact. Almost to see if people were looking. So, we all agreed. Actress or psychology major. Seemed obvious.
Then, I thought. Hmmm...I wonder if the 2 were together. They got there relatively at the same time. One just had drinks and didn't say a word. The other one made a scene. 2 opposite extremes. They both paid and tipped very well.
They were in cahoots! Those cahooting cahooters!
We weren't positive about this theory. Just hoping it were true and that the girl wasn't really crazy, just acting. And the depressed woman was doing the same. Of course, I bet if I turn the news on now, there'll be some crazy Asian chick going all "Kill Bill" on tourists in Times Square screaming "WILLIAM!". Meanwhile, a depressed white woman will be found passed out drunk, make up running down her face from tears with an Emily Dickinson book.
About 20 minutes later, one of the ladies in my fun group excitedly calls me over. "Bartender! BARTENDER!" I rush over to see what the fuss is all about. She shrieks, "She's back!" I wasn't sure what she meant at first, then realized she was talking about the crazy chick. I look over. "No, it's not her." The lady insists, "Yes, it is! And she has a man with her! I wonder if it's William!" Her thirst for the story to continue had her convinced it was the same girl. I look again. "Nope. It's not her. I'm positive."
Yep. The girl was Asian. And, no, they looked nothing alike. Except that they were Asian. I playfully told the lady, "Well, we all look alike. You know. Us Asians." She shrunk in her chair.
Okay, that's what I wanted to say, but I didn't. I just told her it positively wasn't the same girl. I internally forgave her unintended stereotyping. It made me chuckle.
I would describe these women to you so that you could be on the look out. Just to see if they do it again. But, as you see, Asians are hard to tell apart. And, for me...all of you whitey's look the same.
Of course, another theory is that the Asian girl could have been dining with a ghost. You never know. Poor William. He can't escape her craziness even in the afterlife.

I loved me some Lego action as a kid. Of course, we didn't have all of the super cool extra parts to make stuff like in the picture over there. I was happy if I could just make a house or a car with mine. Nowadays, you can build a ship or Batman or a hot dog cart or sushi place or zoo or whatever! I figured my Lego playing days were over.
How wrong I was.
I know I'm late to the game. Literally on this one. But, I just picked up the Lego Star Wars video game. It was so successful last year when it came out that it spawned a sequel. They sort of did it backwards in terms of how they released the games. However, it is in proper sequential order according to episode numbers. The first game covered Episodes 1-3. And it's sequel, the original trilogy of 4-6. It's a pretty quick game. I just started it and am almost done. I suppose that means I'll have to pick up the new one soon.
I hear they are planning other Lego video games. Like Batman. I'm all for it. Keep 'em coming! Maybe I'll start buying Lego's again and build my own house. I remember when I was younger, that I built my own Lego Playboy girl. Boy, did I get a lot of use out of her. Wait...that sounded...
Looking forward to more Lego action. I'd hate to be Lego-less. No, not Legolas. He was pretty cool. Things he could do with that bow and arrow. Damn.
Wait...that sounded...

Did anyone else catch this on Wednesday? I really liked it. Caught myself laughing out loud on several occasions. People were worried that NBC had 2 shows about late night sketch comedy. Studio 60 debuted a few weeks ago. Loving that. It's more drama/comedy and is an hour long. 30 Rock is more sit-com and is 30 minutes long. Both pretty different. Sure, same basic idea. Behind the scenes of a late night sketch show. But, still very different. Good cast up there too!
Jane Krakowski joined the cast late. That's why she's not in any of the promo shots. I'm assuming. Poor Rachel Dratch. She was originally in Jane's role, but they moved her to character actress role. She's gonna play many minor characters. All good. Plenty of room for everyone! Alec Baldwin is great as the big boss. Tracy Morgan is really funny as the crazy and successful film actor brought in to boost ratings. Tina Fey, never the best actress, is fine in her role. Nice well rounded cast.
Only one show down, so easy to catch up on. NBC.com may be showing the episode on it's site. Go check it!
Ironically, both Studio 60 and 30 Rock are funnier than the show they are spoofing, Saturday Night Live. Watch them all in one week and see if I'm right. You'll see.

That's Joe and I with Blair Butler back at Comic-Con in July. She hosts the segment, "Fresh Ink" on G4TV's Attack of the Show every Friday. She also joins us on Comic News Insider about once a month. Who is she? Well, she is the resident comic book geeky queen of G4TV. Also a stand up comic and writer. And she's purty.
Well, ever since she started joining us on the show, she has desperately tried to get her producers to allow her to plug us during her segment. Well, she succeeded! Last Friday's show got us a mention. And it wasn't even her! She got the co-host, Kevin Pereira, to mention it in the closing moments of her segment! Don't believe me? Check it out here. Go ahead. Check it out! I'll wait.
Back? See? I told you! We're on national TV! Wheeeee! Thanks, Blair! You rock!
My only mini-gripe, and it's mini, is that people don't know that we're a podcast. It went by so fast. But, I can't complain. We got mentioned! So, clearly, we rock. Spread the word. We're awesome.
Like you didn't already know that.

Comic News Insider: Episode 58 will be available for free download by 9 a.m. If you're lucky, maybe a bit earlier! Keep checking! Either click on the link or get it through iTunes. Sure, there are other ways to download it through various podcast sites. But, why make you go all over the place? See? I do care.
Reviews cover Cross Bronx #2, Doctor Strange: The Oath #1 and Criminal #1. I know. I dissed on Cross Bronx the first time around. Tune in to see if I can be turned. Not a Doc Strange fan, but Brian K. Vaughn is writing it. If he wrote the ingredients to a soup can, I'd read it. And see if the highly anticipated Brubaker/Phillips book, Criminal, lives up to the hype! Oh yeah. We talk about the season premieres of those little shows called Lost and Battlestar Galactica. Heard of them?
Lots of news to cover. 300, Ghost Rider, Heroes, George Lucas TV projects, Watchmen, Hellboy animated, Joss Whedon, Thunderbolts, Who Wants to be a Superhero, Star Trek comics, Scream Awards, Iron Man, Bionic Woman: Reimagined, etc.
And for you NYCers. Brian K. Vaughn is appearing in a few places to sign books! Where? Tune in to find out!
As per usual, end with the Top 3. Yep, that's one of them over there! Get a hold of us!
