Birthday Invite

Yes, you know my birthday is coming up on Saturday, December 9th. But, what am I going to do? The usual...

Drink til I'm crazy, start a few fights, stab someone with a shank, propose to the girl at the peep show, kidnap a midget and wake up in a horses stable somewhere in Oklahoma. Good times.

But, if that doesn't happen, I suppose I'll do this. Come meet me out for drinks.

When: Saturday, December 9th

Time: 10pm

Where: Pigalle (NE corner of 48th st./8th ave.)

I'll be having dinner earlier with some family and friends. If you think you're one of them, then give me a shout and join us! If I don't want you there, you'll know. Or, just show up for drinks later. We'll hang at Pigalle til around 12ish. Then bounce around the Hell's Kitchen hood. I'm sure we'll end up somewhere debaucherous. A place that "gentlemen" frequent. Like a Friendly's.

Clark Kent: The Early Years

You all know about my podcast, Comic News Insider. It's a podcast that covers news in the comic book industry, reviews of comic books/movies/TV and interviews. Now, it's a very laid back and casual affair. Especially the interviews. I'm not Edward R. Murrow grilling Stan Lee. "So, when you created Spider-Man, did that have anything to do with the backlash from the HUAC investigations led by Senator McCarthy?" No, siree! And that's siree. Not Suri, the Cruise/Holmes alien baby.

And, you all know I'm a freakin' genius. But, I was pondering about taking a journalism class. Just to see what those punks do. Most likely, just to learn about what I don't want to do. But, it could be helpful. What do you think?

The Art of the Love Letter

What happened to the love letter? With the onset of technology, hand written communication is almost non-existent. I have strongly embraced technology. Emails, instant messages, texts, etc. are the major form of communicado nowadays. So, is there a "love email"? Just doesn't sound the same.

I ran across some old love letters from an ex-girlfriend. Yes, someone actually wrote love letters to me. Hard to believe, but true!

"I've been thinking and missing you an awful lot. The other night was so special to me. I know...there were many beautiful times we shared. But the way the candles you gave to me illuminated us in such a soft, heavenly light...I shall never forget that. I miss holding you. I miss eating together. I miss watching you sleep....I miss you."

Hand written and the scent of perfume lined the letter. If I would have gotten that today, it would have been via email sans the delicious essence. And, you think those words are sweet, you should have seen what I wrote in return. Yeah, I can be all romantical if the situation is right. Though I wont admit it in public.

Crap. I just admitted it in public, didn't I?

Instead of bringing sexy back, maybe I'll bring the love letter back. Who's the lucky lady?

I'm A Ninja Troll!

What's a ninja troll you ask? Ya got me. I mean, I know I'm a ninja. Maybe I got bit by a radioactive troll thus making me...NINJA TROLL!

Actually, someone has called me that. Though I think they meant it in a derogatory fashion. I don't take it as such. A ninja troll kicks ass! Apparently, this person whom recently had karma smack them in the ass, yet blamed me for their misfortune, still can't keep my name out of their mouth. Well, they can. They just substitute it with ninja troll! Sweet! As in, "I hope I don't run into Ninja Troll." Hey, Ninja Troll here says the feeling is mutual. Maybe next they'll mutate me into Samurai Ogre. Or Ronin Cyclops. Or Kamikaze Koala Bear! Well, maybe not that last one.

Still, their words, while meaningless, only make me stronger. Ninja Troll vows to keep the heartless, irresponsible and evil at bay. Fret not.

Ninja Troll is here to stay! (Cue theme music).

Requiem for a Turkey

Thanksgiving came and went yesterday. Alas, I thought I would not be partaking in any turkey love. I had to work all day but they promised us a good meal at the beginning! No turkey, but something better than the normal prison slop of a family meal. What was it? Penne pasta and salad. No meat. Wow.

So, the restaurant was full and the bar was dead. 2 of us on. Bored to tears, about to throw cranberry sauce on each other and just start eating! We craved the bird! I was allowed to take a break for a couple of hours since there was nothing going on. Originally, I was invited to my friend's apartment for some gobbledy goodness. Kathleen and Kelle were having a small gathering of a few friends, but I had to work. I called to see if I could still come over and crash the event. Sure enough! Turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie! Oh, and the awesome deviled eggs from Mike. Unfortunately, I had to do a dine and dash and get back to work.

Lindsey took off shortly after and I actually got really busy. Some friends came in to dine at the bar. And, we actually had enough turkey left to feed us. Double turkey!

Much to be thankful for. Great life, friends, family, etc. And, dining at the bar last night, Isabella. The Polish girl living in Michigan craving to move to NYC.

I'm quite thankful for that body. No cranberry sauce necessary.

Gobble Gobble!

Happy Turkey Day folks!

Enjoy your turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and cranberry sauce. Don't forget the pumpkin pie!

Alas, I'll be working. Fret not. Concerned friends promise to bring me some gobbledy goodness! Not a big deal to work on Thanksgiving. Never been a huge holiday for me. I'd rather have Christmas off. Though, last year's Thanksgiving was awesome. I was in Seattle with my friend, Christina, and her family. Thus, were born The Lamb Skanks! You'll have to dig back to last year's posts to figure that one out.

I will miss my annual tradition though. Dressing up as Iron Eyes Cody, the famous Native American who appeared in those old anti-litter ads back in the day. I dress up in full costume and go to restaurants. Cross my arms and just stare at people. Arms crossed and a single tear cascading down my cheek. And, if they say, "Happy Thanksgiving!", I reply, "For you it is!"

Don't forget that special Thanksgiving catch phrase from the hit show, HEROES.

"Save the turkey leg. Save the pie."

Pre-Birthday Stuff

It's not my birthday yet. That historic day is December 9th. I'm just getting an early reminder in for all of you to buy me presents. That's right. I want presents! Some of you have asked what I want, so I'm here to tell you. Please don't get me anything (XBOX 360). I really just value our friendship (Absolute Sandman). If you just send a card, that's fine (New Laptop Computer). I know times are tough, so it's all good (Gift Cards!).

Some of you don't like the gift card thing. I love them! Blah blah..it's not personal. It's perfect for me. Never get me music or movies or comic books. I guarantee I already have it.
