I'm an idiot. Yes, I realize that's not big news. I have thought 2 different girls were the same person for quite a bit. No, not one's that I'm having relations with though that has happened in the past. At the same time. A-w-k-w-a-r-d.

Alas, it was 2 bar patrons. One TV star. One Broadway star. Yet separated at birth! Well, in my head.

The TV star. Megan McCormick. She used to come in on occasion. Came in last night and was happy I remembered her as she's been out of town for quite some time. We chatted a bit during her dinner/drinks with friends at the bar and she even hugged me goodbye saying, "Well, suppose I'll see you in another year!" She has moved down to South America recently. After she left, a few co-workers said her name was Megan and that she hosted a travel show called Globe Trekker. Which confused me. And here's why.

Broadway star Haven Burton. Now, I know she's been coming in for a long time. When she was in the musical Rent, the cast came in a couple of times a week. After that show ended, she popped in less, but I would still see her on occasion.

I know the 2 pictures aren't great for comparison, but I'm telling you...separated at birth! They are both lovely, talented and smart women so it's certainly no insult to either.Obviously, I never talked too in depth with either of them or else my recollection might have been better. Sue me, I'm getting old.

At least I didn't say anything embarrassing to Megan last night. "Hey, will you be singing down in South America?" And I just have to remember to not say to Haven next time I see her, "So, how's the world travel?"

At least they aren't Asian. Because ALL of my people look alike and this post would have been flooded with thousands of photos. Just sayin'.

Shove It Up Your Nose

Apparently, this is the new shit to put up your nose when you're sick. Not that other stuff that the hot stripper thought I could get. I've been using it and I'm not sure if it's working. Guess we'll see. Basically, you break open the capsule and pull out the medicated swab. Shove it up one nostril for about 5 seconds. Dip it in the medicine tube again and shove it up the other nostril. It's all terribly violent and I hates it!

But, praise will befall if I'm suddenly better very soon. As in now. Zicam, the swab is in your court. Actually, it's up my nose. So, start making the sick go away!

Still Illin'

I Get A Sick Out of You...

I'm sick like Jimmy Olsen. Well, he's clearly faking it to be a big jerk-face to find out Superman's secret identity. I'm not. EVERYONE around me has been sick and I've been holding it off. It's probably the longest I've gone without being sick. I'm gonna say maybe 8 months or so. With all these sick, diseased fuckers coughing and hacking and sneezing on me for the past week, I got it. Fuck you all for not covering your mouth and washing your hands when you emitted your nastiness. You might as well have handed me blankets full of small pox. Of course, it doesn't help that it's -50 degrees outside.

I've been at home in and out of bed hopped up on all sorts of meds. Send soup, pills, bourbon and strippers. Hey, if I'm stuck at home I might as well be entertained.

Steak Haikus

I loves me some steak
See me and Cass grillin it
I chomped it from tongs.

I had a filet
Of the mignon kind, that is
Del Frisco's comp......burp.

LOST is Found Again

Lost has returned. The Season 5 premiere was last night. 3 hours full of time warping goodness! The first hour was a recap and the last 2 were the new episodes. This should go without saying, but for those that may have stumbled upon.

Got it? Good. I thought it was pretty awesome. For those bitching about it...it's back and better than ever. Now that they have a definitive ending, there will be no more "filler" episodes. The 6th season will be the last! So, catch up and start watching.

Just some rambly type thoughts for you.

• Wick/Candle's real name is Dr. Chang. I was confused at first and thought that was Sun in bed. Well, you know how we Asians all look alike.
• Farraday in the past? He's a time traveler? 
• Sawyer's nicknames: Ginger for Charlotte. (Appropriate both because she's a pasty skinned redhead and that they are on an island!). Dilbert and Dr. Wizard (though corrected by Miles as Mr. Wizard) for Farraday. Dilbert is quite fitting! 
• The Widmore/Sun face off. Common ground? Killing Ben! 
• Locke and Alpert. How did Alpert know about the time shifts? (Though he seems to know everything.) 
• The time shifts. Wow. A whole new story element! How much longer do you think they'll keep that up? Will it be like the first episode of Battlestar Galactica where they had to jump every 33 minutes? Are the time shifts at a certain time? Probably one or all of the famous Lost numbers. (4, 8, 15, 16, 23, & 42....as if I had to say.)
• Hurley/Sayid. They sort of paired up characters a lot this episode. Interesting pair. Who's after them? Widmore's people? Nice to see Hurley admit the lie to mama and have her believe him. Though disappointed he turned himself in. 
• Cheech as Hurley's dad was cool and played along w/ Hurley. I kept thinking they'd follow the cliche path of them turning him in. Glad he didnt. How funny when dad's making that sandwich. Caviar on top! And he's watching EXPOSE! Thought we'd have a scene with Nikki. 
• Desmond is special? He can travel through time as well, I'm guessing. Kind of evident already in past episodes. 
• Ana lucia!!! That was an awesome appearance. Never hated on her like everyone else did though would liked to have SEEN Libby instead of her just saying "Libby says hi". Though that was a nice touch. (Anyone else notice the "Dream Police" by Cheap Trick playing in the background?) And funny how they had her say, "Don't get arrested".
• The Neil Frogurt out of nowhere thing seemed obvious that he was suddenly a redshirt. Sure, he's been talked about and first seen on those webisodes. But his sudden appearance with lots of lines and screen time made it obvious he was gonna die. Kind of like when that professor or doctor names Arzt suddenly appeared as a character and got blown up by the dynamite. 
• Fire arrows!!! LOOK OUT! More extras dead including Frogurt. They're really going out of their way to trim the fat.
• Hurley telling his mom the truth and her believing. Making it all sound crazy as he summed up 4 years of the show.
• Are those army men actually Rousseau's crew?
• Cindy, the stewardess, isn't jumping along with the Losties because she is originally an "other". Perhaps she was all part of the original plan to crash the plane.
• The whispers are people traveling through time? Perhaps the Losties themselves or "others" as they pass through time.
• The island is not there because it was blown up or sunk or something in the past, so doesn't appear in the future.
• Locke has to be dead to return? Who's betting he comes back to life when he gets there. 
• Ben Linus has a whole heap of helpers in the real world. This secret society of folks. Sup wit dat? How is so powerful off island too? 
• Sawyer with no shoes. Heard a theory that when he stepped on something in the episode and hurts himself, it gets infected and Juliet has to amputate a toe off. With time jumps, maybe Sawyer is lauded as a hero to ancient settlers on the island who build a monument to him and his 4 toes.
• I think Mrs. Hawkins is Farraday's moms like everyone else thinks as well.

and finally....

BEN LINUS IS THE 5TH CYLON!!!

J-town Jaunt

As you know, I had very little internet access when down in Florida. Well, I had my iPhone so I could still get online, but didn't have the convenience of a keyboard and surfing easily. I had to find a wifi joint on Saturday just to watch Battlestar Galactica! I'm back now, so here we go.

First off, Moms is all good. I took her to the hospital on Thursday morning and had her out by that afternoon. By the next day, she was up and walking and said the pain was gone. Well, pain from the incision was there, but not the original pain. Sweet. It worked! Thanks to everyone for all of your well wishes and stuff. It was a minor surgery but I'll admit...something disconcerting and sad seeing your Moms hooked up to tubes, passed out in a hospital bed. I'm not a fan of hospitals as it is.

I also got to see a bunch of old friends. So many high school folks found me on the Facebook over the summer and started planning this little reunion. Quite a few didn't bother showing up after saying they would, but I certainly had fun with those that did. Got to hang with the longest running ex, Dionne, for a few days. Saw a show at the theater I used to work at and caught up with some theater folks. (Remember when I used to be an actor? Anyone?) Got a haircut from some cute tattooed 20 year old. Hung out at bars and witnessed packs of cougars on the prowl. Ate at some of my old favorite spots. Made fun of my friends freaking out over how cold it was in Florida. Drove A LOT which I realized I both loved/loathed. Loved when I knew where I was going and sped down the highway. Loathed when I kept getting lost. Shopped more than I thought I would and forgot how much cool shit Steinmart carries. Brand names for less! Visited my old local comic book shop, The Dragon's Tale, and chatted with one of the owners about comics. And came to the conclusion that I don't think I could ever live in Jacksonville again. Fun to visit, but that's it.

Oh yeah. And visited the Super Wal-Mart. While I don't believe in a lot of their policies and the like, it is an impressive store. And if I forgot I was in the Bible Belt, this collection of ties certainly reminded me. Praise Jesus! Uh...on his cross and stuff. Wow.

I'm gonna try to come down again sooner than later. Maybe some of these friends of mine will actually make the time for me. The fuckers. Still, had a blast reminiscing and seeing everyone. And mostly, glad Moms is good. Til next time, First Coast.

Wi-Fi-Fo-Fum

I've been down in the hometown of Jacksonville, Florida since Wednesday. Staying with my moms who is sans internet and wi-fi. Finally came down to a place with wi-fi today to get some stuff done. If you've been keeping up, moms had a minor hip surgery. She is doing great, so no worries there. Been hanging with old friends and catching up.

One observation: Jacksonville is FULL of strip malls. Now, that would be cool if those were malls full of strippers, but alas...no.

Back in NYC tomorrow, kids. We'll catch up then.
