I love Louis C.K. He's one of those genius type comedians who doesn't often get the props he deserves. He's been on the stand up circuit for many, many years. Seek out some of his albums. Hilarious! He had a show on HBO that lasted about a season or 2. I really dug it, but it didn't seem to do well. Now, he has a new show on FX called Louie. Like many comedians who get a show, it sort of follows his stand up (which they intersperse throughout the episode) and relates it to written scenes. Dark, dreary and uncomfortable...yet so damn funny! It's on Tuesday nights on FX so get to watching it! Official blurb:
"Louie is a comedy filtered through the observational humor of Louis C.K. Each episode puts a spotlight on Louis' hectic life as a successful stand-up comedian and newly single father raising his two daughters. The single-camera comedy is a mix of Louis C.K.'s stand-up comedy and scripted short films. Louis C.K. serves as executive producer, writer and director, and Dave Becky and 3 Arts are executive producers. FX has ordered 13 episodes of the series which is shot in New York."
2 episodes aired last night. You can probably catch a repeat on FX during the week or on the official website. You can thank me after.
