While playing GTA V, My Anglophile self noticed a few Britishisms in the language. I know the character Trevor is Canadian but other characters have said these too. A couple of examples:
- Characters saying, "Go to hospital" instead of the American way of saying "Go to THE hospital".
- In a random event side quest (and I played it w/ both Michael and Franklin...American characters), there is a conversation with another character where they say something like, "Tell him you're not a guy called Brian!" and Michael/Franklin both say it. "I'm not a guy called Brian!". Total British way of saying "A guy NAMED Brian".
Few other small examples here and there. I wasn't sure if there was any British folks involved with the company Rockstar or not. There definitely is according to Wikipedia.
"Rockstar Games is a multinational video game developer and publisher based in New York City, owned by Take-Two Interactive following its purchase of British video game publisher BMG Interactive. The Rockstar Games label was founded in New York City in 1998 by the British video game producers Sam Houser, Dan Houser, Terry Donovan, Jamie King and Gary Foreman."
Just curious if it was just a glitch with the script writers or on purpose as a shout out to their homeland. Doesn't bother me at all but just found it funny. Anyone else notice?
